A new government scheme has very recently been launched offering up to £2,000 worth of free advice to 20,000 small businesses across the country in the form of granted vouchers.
The vouchers are available to businesses which have been running for more than a year, have fewer than 50 employees and have not taken external strategic advice for the last three years.
The five areas of advice businesses can apply for are:
- Leadership and management training
- Making the most of digital tech
- Managing cashflow, late payments and negotiating finance
- Marketing, attracting and keeping customers
- Developing skills and taking on staff
The following Real Business link gives more detail on the scheme: here>>
There are however a few eligibility criteria that need to be met which are listed on the government website link: here>>
One of these criteria is that the business applying must “be independent” (ie no more than 25% is owned by other businesses or organisations).
I understand that applicants are chosen through a random selection process as there could well be more than 20,000 businesses interested.
